Monroe County Legislator Saul Maneiro represents the 29th District, which includes the northeast area of the City of Rochester, north of Avenue D and west of Culver Road. Saul is a lifelong resident of northeast Rochester where his family roots run deep. He currently serves as a Program Officer at Rochester Area Community Foundation where he oversees funding to help improve neighborhood programs, promote arts and cultural initiatives, and boost efforts to better engage citizens in all aspects of our community. Before assuming that position in 2007, he was a Program Manager for The Housing Council in Rochester, and a Legislative Assistant to New York State Senator Richard Dollinger.
Saul attended Rochester City Schools and is a graduate of Wilson Magnet High School and the University of Rochester, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Since graduating from the University of Rochester in 2000, he has been an active volunteer and board member with many organizations that serve the community. He has served as Vice President of The Wilson Alliance, where they develop strategies and programs in cooperation with parents, faculty, and alumni to enhance and promote the educational goals of Wilson Magnet High School. He has also served as a mentor for the Red Cross Hispanic Youth Leadership Development Program. Saul is also a graduate of Leadership Rochester, which provides community leaders with knowledge and access to resources that enable them to understand and respond to the challenges facing the Greater Rochester region. In 2005 he served on the Mayor’s transitional housing advisory team.
