Monroe County Legislator Harry Bronson represents the 24th District, which includes the southeast portion of Rochester, as well as western parts of Brighton and northern parts of Henrietta. Harry was elected to represent the 24th district for a four year term in 2005. In October 2007 he was elected Democratic Minority Leader of the Legislature. He currently serves on the Ways & Means Committee of the Legislature.

 

Harry's passion for social justice, equity and fairness has defined both his public service and legal career. After earning his undergraduate degree Cum Laude in Public Justice from SUNY Oswego, Harry went on to the University of Buffalo, where he earned his Juris Doctor. He is a previous law partner at the firm of Blitman and King LLP where his focus was on anti-discrimination employment law, labor issues, employee benefits, and litigation. In addition, he has handled legal matters involving commercial development, industrial revenue bonds and other transactional matters. Harry has lectured throughout the state on employment and public justice issues.

 

Harry has long been involved with community advocacy. For three years, he served as Executive Director of Cephas, Inc where he directed programs to strengthen families, reduce crime, and make our community safer. From 2001 to 2004, Harry served on the Rochester City Planning Commission, holding the office of Vice Chair for the last year.

 

Harry Bronson lives in Rochester’s vibrant South Wedge neighborhood.
